The Yorùbá people constitute one of the major ethnic groups in modern Nigeria with estimated population to be over thirty Million and majority of them reside at their traditional homeland, south western part of the country (Nigeria).
 They are found in the present States of Òyó, Ògùn, Òsun, Òndò, Èkìtì, Lágòs and some parts of kwárà and kogí State. The sub ethnic groups found in Yorùbá land are; Ìjèsà, Ìjèbú, Òyó, Ifè, Òndò, Àkókó, Èkìtì, Ìkálè, Ìlaje, Ègbádò, Okun, and Ìgbómínà.
There is a considerable population of Yorùbá migrants in Northern and South Eastern parts of Nigeria. A large number of Yorùbá people inhabit the republic of Benin, Togo and some west African countries, in addition Yorùbá diaspora are also found in Europe, North and South America,Brazil, Cuba, Trinidad and the Caribbean island....
